Dinners at Pewterers’ Hall
Pewterers’ Hall is the perfect venue for your next Dinner; conveniently located within a short walking distance from St Pauls, Bank and Barbican tube stations, and tucked away just off Gresham Street.
Home to the Worshipful Company of Pewterers’, the earliest documented reference to it is in the records of the Corporation dated 1348 and the Company’s own records are extant from 1451. The first charter was granted by King Edward IV in 1473, and it is number sixteen in the order of civic precedence among over a hundred livery companies.
Featuring beautiful chandeliers and a striking display of Pewter, the Livery Hall is situated on the ground floor, and is where your guests would dine. The room can accommodate up to 80 on round tables and up to 100 on top table and sprigs. It benefits from air conditioning, a built in public address system, and light dimmers to set the mood.
With beautiful features of 17th century oak panelling and Georgian chandeliers, the Court Room exudes historical importance in the era of Pewter. Situated on the first floor, the room offers a superb view of the garden from the beautiful sash windows. Your drinks reception would take place in the Court Room, surrounded by oak panels saved from the second Pewterers’ Hall site on Lime Street, bearing the names of past Masters of the Company.
Delight in the warm summer evenings with a glass of something fizzy in our secret City garden. The garden is the original St Mary Staining Churchyard, with the Church being destroyed in the Great Fire of London in 1666 and not rebuilt. Guests can enjoy the garden for pre-dinner summer receptions, which has a convenient access door just off the Livery Hall. Standing in the garden gives guests a real feel for old meeting new, combining a historical location, surrounded by modern office buildings.
